Introduction
 
The department was established in 1995 and offers four years B. Tech. Degree in Computer Science & Engineering. The department possesses the qualified, experienced and dedicated faculty. Apart from the teaching and academic activities the faculty of the department is actively involved in research work. Core competencies of the department are in the area of image processing, compiler design, network security and web development etc.

We all faculty, staff and students of Computer Science and Engineering Department of BCET believe in a bright tomorrow, filled with a zest for innovation and celebrating life in its full glory, empowered by technical expertise, knowhow, skill and humaneness.
 
Mission of the Department
 
  • Development of human resources in the field of computer science and engineering to serve the cause of nation.
  • Creation of a sustained learning environment for acquiring technical knowledge and professional application of the same in the domain of computer science and engineering.
  • Inculcating amongst our students a deep understanding of the fundamental principles, concepts and practice in computer science and engineering.
  • Creating conducive environment for innovation to translate theoretical knowledge into practical applications.
  • Preparing budding computer engineers to meet the ever increasing technological and social challenges with its traditions of self discipline, hard work, all round personality development and a creative approach to problems.
  • Maintaining accountability towards our profession through the process of self evaluation and continuous improvement.
 
Programme Education Objectives (PEOs)
 
  1. To build solid foundation in the field of general engineering among students to inculcate ability to formulate, solve and analyze engineering problems.
  2. To develop creative and innovative skills among students and prepare them to be capable of designing and developing real-world computing applications with high societal influence and impact.
  3. To prepare students for successful careers in national and multinational companies engaged in the fields of Software/Hardware/Database etc. By developing the ability among them to understand and synthesize data/information and related technical concepts.
  4. To prepare students capable to work as part of teams on multidisciplinary projects involving professional ethics and codes of professional practice.
  5. To nurture strong understanding in logical, mathematical and analytical reasoning among students coupled with problem solving attitude that prepares them to productively engage in research and higher learning.
  6. To instil communication and management skill that generates entrepreneurship and / or leadership qualities.
 
Programme Outcomes (POs)
 
  1. Graduates will be able to use the basic knowledge of mathematics and science in engineering and technological applications.
  2. Graduates will be able to identify, formulate and solve computer engineering problems.
  3. Graduates will be able to design and conduct experiments, interpret and analyze data, and report results.
  4. Graduates will be able to conceptualize and design the computer systems or processes that meet desired specifications and requirements.
  5. Graduates will be able to function/participate as a member of the teams engaged in Engineering/Technology laboratories, as well as in multidisciplinary design teams in latest technologies.
  6. Graduates will have ability to serve the society with professional ethics.
  7. Graduates will be capable of self learning and development.
  8. Graduates will have an understanding of the impact of engineering on society and demonstrate awareness of contemporary issues.
  9. Graduates will be able to use modern engineering software tools and equipments to solve computer engineering problems.

  11. Graduates will be able to deliver the engineering fundamentals in effective and innovative ways.
